Hamlin Fistula UK works in an area often misunderstood and lacking awareness—preventable childbirth injuries. One of the special features of the charity is they provide homemade knitted blankets through a network of volunteers. A blanket is given to each patient upon arrival at a Hamlin hospital.

Objectives:
Our campaign aimed to access a community of knitters, providing them a meaningful way to support the charity and raise awareness about a cause previously unknown to them.
We sought to:

Raise Awareness: Highlight Hamlin Fistula UK's work in treating women with these injuries

Engage Community: Encourage people to knit blankets for Ethiopian women undergoing treatment.

Support Patients: Provide comfort and care through handmade blankets.

Strategy
We developed a compassionate, community-driven sub-brand which complements the main Hamlin Fistula UK brand. Eye-catching visual assets reflect the values of warmth and care which are woven through the brand.

We created a consistent suite of promotional materials, including email campaigns, social media content, web content and instructional PDFs.

Execution
Launched the "Knitted with Love" campaign across all channels: website, social and email. We developed a specific nurture sequence for knitters to receive after sign up.
We consistently reached out to online knitting groups and shared our assets and ensured regular communication via social media.

Results
Increased Participation: Significant increase in volunteer sign-ups and blanket donations. More people signed up for information which we followed up with a specific nurture email sequence.

Successful Blanket Collection Weeks: Growth in the number of blankets collected during each campaign week and new knitters donating each time.

Increased Awareness: Elevated the charity's profile (increased followers on Facebook), providing a platform to engage with those unfamiliar with the cause.
