LinkedIn Ads Budget Calculator ✅

FREE

Try out our free LinkedIn Ads Budget Calculator and plan your next campaign.

Work out how much to spend on LinkedIn Ads to hit your lead, event or sales target. Built for UK marketing leads, in pounds with 2026 benchmarks.

Most LinkedIn budgets start with a guess. A number that feels about right, or whatever's left at the end of the quarter. This free LinkedIn Ads budget calculator works the other way round. You start with the result you need, and it shows you the budget, clicks and impressions it takes to get there.

Use it to plan a new campaign, build a business case for your finance director or sense-check a proposal from an agency.

How to use the LinkedIn Ads budget calculator

It takes about a minute. You don't need any data from Campaign Manager to get started.

  1. Choose your goal. Leads, event sign-ups or sales. For sales, add your target revenue and your average sale value.

  2. Set your campaign length. We'll split the total into a weekly and daily budget.

  3. Describe your campaign. Pick your ad format, who you're targeting and whether people will sign up on your website or through a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form.

  4. Fine-tune the numbers (optional). We fill in the cost per 1,000 impressions (CPM), click-through rate and conversion rate from UK benchmarks. If you know your own figures, swap them in.

  5. Read your results. You'll see your estimated budget, cost per click, cost per lead or sale, and the changes that would bring the budget down the most.

How the calculator works out your budget

LinkedIn Ads budgets come down to three numbers. Change any one of them and the budget moves.

  • Conversion rate: the share of people who click your ad and then become a lead or sale.

  • Click-through rate (CTR): the share of people who see your ad and click it.

  • CPM: what LinkedIn charges for every 1,000 times your ad is shown.

The calculator works backwards from your goal:

  • Clicks needed = your target ÷ conversion rate

  • Impressions needed = clicks needed ÷ click-through rate

  • Budget = (impressions needed ÷ 1,000) × CPM

That's why your landing page matters so much. Doubling your conversion rate halves the budget you need, and no amount of clever targeting does that for you.

How much do LinkedIn Ads cost in the UK?

LinkedIn ads are sold at auction, so there's no fixed price. What you pay depends on your objective, who you target and how many other advertisers want the same people (LinkedIn). LinkedIn doesn't publish average costs either.

LinkedIn is more expensive than Meta or TikTok per click. You're paying for precision: the ability to reach people by job title, seniority, company and industry.

Five ways to lower your LinkedIn cost per lead

  1. Fix the landing page first. It's the cheapest lever you have. One clear offer, a short form, no distractions and a page that loads fast on mobile.

  2. Try Lead Gen Forms. People can sign up without leaving LinkedIn, which removes a big drop-off point.

  3. Test Thought Leader ads. These boost posts from real people in your team rather than the company page. Their median click-through rate is many times higher than single image ads (ZenABM).

  4. Get the audience size right. Very narrow lists push your CPM up; very broad ones waste impressions. Start with the job functions and seniority levels who actually buy from you.

  5. Refresh your ads regularly. Click-through rates drop as the same people see the same ad. Plan new ads every few weeks.

Building a LinkedIn Ads business case

If you need sign-off for LinkedIn spend, the calculator gives you the numbers to show your working. A simple business case covers:

  • The goal: how many leads, sign-ups or sales you need, and why.

  • The budget: the figure from the calculator, with the assumptions behind it.

  • The return: for sales goals, the calculator shows what each £1 of ad spend brings back. Compare that with your profit margin, not just revenue.

  • The risks: what happens if click-through or conversion rates come in lower than planned. Run a cautious scenario too.

  • The test plan: how you'll measure results and when you'll decide whether to scale up or stop.

Showing finance a budget built from clear assumptions is far more convincing than a round number.

Paid Social Budget Calculator: Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a social media advertising budget calculator?

A social media advertising budget calculator is a tool that helps you estimate the costs associated with your social media advertising campaigns. It takes into account various factors such as CPM (Cost Per 1000 Impression), Click Through Rate, Page Conversion Rate and campaign goal to provide an accurate budget estimate.

2. How accurate is the budget calculator?

While the calculator provides a good estimate based on the inputs you provide, actual costs may vary due to factors like market competition and changes in platform algorithms. However, it offers a reliable starting point for planning your budget.

3. Can I use the calculator for platforms other than Facebook?

Yes, our calculator is versatile and can be used for multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and more. Essentially it works for any platform where you buy the adverts on views (Cost Per Impression) rather than PPC (Pay Per Click), like Google Sponsored Ads.

4. How often should I review my social media advertising budget?

It's advisable to review your budget regularly, especially when starting a new campaign or making significant changes to your strategy. Regular reviews help you stay on track and make necessary adjustments to optimise performance.

5. Can The Polka manage my social media advertising campaigns?

Absolutely! At The Polka, we offer comprehensive social media advertising services, from strategy development to campaign management and performance analysis. We love helping businesses and charities succeed using social media advertising.

How much should I spend on LinkedIn Ads?

Start with your goal, not a number. Decide how many leads or sales you need, then use the calculator to work out the budget that takes. For most UK B2B campaigns that's at least £1,000 to £3,000 a month to get useful results.

How much do LinkedIn Ads cost in the UK?

Most UK B2B campaigns pay £20 to £35 per 1,000 impressions and around £4.50 to £7.50 per click. Senior or niche audiences cost more. Your own costs depend on your audience, your ads and the competition.

What is a good cost per lead on LinkedIn?

It depends on what a customer is worth to you. A £400 lead is expensive for a £50 product but good value for a £20,000 contract. Use the sales mode in the calculator to check whether your numbers add up.

What's the minimum budget for LinkedIn Ads?

LinkedIn's minimum is $10 a day per campaign, roughly £8, with a $100 minimum lifetime budget for new campaigns. In practice you'll need more than that to gather enough data to learn from.

Is LinkedIn worth it compared with Meta or Google?

LinkedIn usually costs more per click, but it lets you target people by job title, seniority, company and industry. For B2B services, high-value products and recruitment it's often the most efficient way to reach the right people, even at a higher cost per click.

Should I use Lead Gen Forms or my website?

Lead Gen Forms usually convert better because they're pre-filled and people stay on LinkedIn. Your website gives you more control and often better-quality leads. Try both in the calculator to see the difference in budget.

[H3] How accurate is the calculator?

It gives you a realistic starting point based on 2026 UK benchmarks. Real costs change with your audience, your ads and how many other advertisers are bidding. Once your campaign is live, replace the starting figures with your own results from Campaign Manager.

[H3] Can I use this calculator for other social platforms?

Yes. The maths works for any platform that charges by impressions, including Meta, TikTok and X. Just change the CPM and click-through rate to match that platform.
